Udupi : In order to surge the Covid-19 second wave in the district, the district collector G Jagadeesh said in the circular that as per the advice from state government, it would be need to regulate unnecessary vehicular traffic and to open check points in the district boundaries to implement the guidelines issued by the government from April 27 to May 12.

He was speaking at the district panchayat hall on Tuesday, chairing a meeting of officials on the implementation of the Covid Guidelines.

DC said it would open check posts at the border and deploy the necessary personnel, inspect and access the thermal scanner for medical reasons and appropriate passes. Marking arrangements should be made in front of all the shops in order to maintain the social gap during the purchase, which will allow the purchase of essential items in the district from 6 am to 10 am. Officials should check on this. He instructed all local authorities to suspend licenses of shopkeepers that were unnecessarily open after 10am until end of COVID pandemic.

Blood donation camps will be arranged in the district with the proper permission and those who donate blood will be allowed to travel, he said.

Those who are in Home Isolation and Home Quarantine should be regularly visited and reported. This should be 100% achievement. DC warned those who are in positive and leave from home isolation and home quarantine and travel should be filed case against them for violation of the Home Quarantine rule.

DC advised the authorities to create containment zones and micro containment zones if Covid cases were found, and directed the district to conduct more tests, identify the victims and take action to prevent the spread of infection.

DC informed the Officials should report that 75% of the beds are reserved for Covid-infected persons referred by the district administration in all private hospitals in the district and take action to open a home care center for those who do not have a home system for home isolation. As a precaution, make sure that the Covid Care Centers are available in all taluks.

He added that all public should wear the mask and social distance is mandatory and that if this rule is violated, penalties will be imposed.

The DC suggested that all the plying squad teams, which were created for the control of Covid, and the staffs headed by various officials, should work together.

In the past, the district administration has served as a model for the entire state in relate to Covid’s control. "This time too, all the officials have been able to carry out their responsibilities efficiently. The public also adhered to the government guidelines and to be cooperated with the district administration to control the Covid 2nd wave in the district, said G. Jagdeesh.

District Panchayat CEO Dr. Naveen Bhatt, Deputy Collector Sadashiva Prabhu, Kundapur Divisional Officer  Raju, District Panchayat Deputy Secretary Kiran Fadnaker, Chief Planning Officer Srinivasa Rao and various department officials were also present.
