No Shortage of beds in udupi hospitals, separate beds for COVID and SARI - Home Minister

Print Udupi: There is no shortage of beds in hospitals in the district at present. Also, separate beds are reserved for the Covid and SARI cases, said State Home Minister Basavaraja Bommai, who is also in charge of the district.
He spoke to media reporters after visit of District Government Hospital at Ajjarkadu here on Sunday, May 2, Bommai said that Even if RT-PCR is negative, there may be shortness of breath. The case is likely to increase in the coming days as well. So, about 25 oxygen beds will be raised in the district hospital near future.
There are over 600 positive cases coming up every day in Udupi. Labs are likely to be under increasing pressure in the coming days. Currently there is only one government lab in the district. Three thousand covid test is being performed in Poolling. It is now intended to do about one and a half thousand additional tests. He said that a proper lab would be set up and there would be 3000 tests independently at a government hospital, minister said.
It is advised to keep track of arrivals from outside states and districts. Minister Bommai said the covid could be effectively prevented in the district if such people were given preference for testing, tracking and treatment.
Commenting on the granting of additional time for groceries and vegetables, Minister Bommai said the revised order was issued at the request of the people. There was no time to buy vegetables and groceries. And so the crowds grew. "Our intention is to avoid crowds. This decision has been taken to reduce the number of people attending."
