Udupi : Dr. TMA Pai Hospital Medical Director Dr. Shashikiran Umakant, the second wave of Covid was spreading wildly because of people’s negligence. India has been leading the world in coronavirus pandemic control since last year’s stringent action. This time, the covid-19 effect began again to affect the Covid rules. He worried that the situation would deteriorate if no other precautions were taken.

Dr. Shashikiran Umakant was expressed during a monthly media conference held under the auspices of the District Working Journalists Association at the IMA Bhavan in association with the Indian Doctors Association (IMA) on Thursday, May 6.

He said that home caregivers need physical and mental rest after seeing the corona. Drink at least two and a half liters of water. Eating food without hunger should improve immunity. If you are suffering from fever, take a pill such as paracetamol 5 times a day. However, he said, "We should seek expert advice on antibiotic and steroid intake."

If the fever and other symptoms not controlled within 5 days after the impact, visit a hospital or doctor. A CT scan can only be done if needed. The necessary treatment will be done by considering the amount of oxygen etc. Covid control is possible if proper care is taken to prevent infection reaching this level. Covid is not a life-threatening disease.  About 95 percent are healing the Covid patients. 5 to 8 percent of people need hospitalization, he said.

IMA Udupi Coastal President Dr. Umesh Prabhu said that Corona second wave is spreading fast and the government must follow the regulatory initiatives prescribed. He added that all eligible should get the Covid vaccine. As the number of Covid sufferers’ increases, there is a shortage of medical personnel. He added that all doctors are involved in the treatment so that they can get treatment for Covid sufferers during the period available.

IMA Organization Secretary and Surgeon Dr. Sudarshan Rao said that there should need to be checked without any delay as soon as the infectious disease corona is found.  No hospital treatment is required in the initial stage. Home care must be strictly followed. He said it is important to be careful not to spread the disease to other members of the household. Seek doctor’s advice. Coronavirus information can be helpful if given in advance to the doctor. He said local people and social workers should provide necessary support to the affected.

Dr. G. S. Chandrashekar, Adarsh Hospital Administrator said that all eligible should get covid vaccine. In the first dose, there is a slight increase in immunity. The full dose of immunity is increased after the second dose. It is not necessarily that the vaccine should be infected. However, the incidence of the disease is low, he said.

Corona does not skip the whole. With the necessity of living with it, the Covid regulations must be strictly followed for the next one year. People should cooperate along with political willpower, he said.

Dr. Virupaksha Devaramane, Dr. A. V. Baliga Memorial Hospital Psychiatrist said that the infected should be self-cautious not to spread the infection to others. The media should act responsibly so as not to spread false or extravagant news about the infection. "Don’t be afraid of Corona, but need awareness" he said.
