Thinking out of the box, with the blessings of Parish Priest Rev Dr Leslie C DSouza and under the guidance of innovative Assistant Vicar Fr Steven Fernandes and its energetic Animator Mr Jason Dais, the ICYM made it a year long programme to visit the elders of the parish.
What will be the special and best occasion than the respective Birthdays of these senior citizens who are above 75, to meet and greet on their special days by personally visiting their homes, sing for them, have a small prayer, cut a cake and spend few minutes with their grandparents…..!!!
Yes, exactly that is started on Saturday, 28th August 2021, while Mrs Alice Menezes who turned 86 and Mrs Pauline Fernandes had her 83rd Birthday, a small group of ICYM youngsters were ready at their doorsteps with roses to their utter surprise…..!! What a joy on the face of these grandmas, while they pose for selfie and photographs…..!!
An exhaustive list of all elderly people of all the 15 Wards with their dates of Birth prepared by the ICYM think tank. Today it was the turn of Mrs Leena DSouza, who celebrating her 79th Birthday…..Teams are formed not to disturb with huge crowed and assigned responsibilities. It must be a wonderful gift of ICYM during this year of Family, Amoris Leticia, and acclaimed by the parishioners.
Wish the ICYM under its President Reemus Saldanha and his enthusiastic team, all the very best in their special acts of love, concern and compassion.
