Udupi : After twelve years a mental depression lady from Assam state joined her son in Vishwasadamane Anathashrama at Shankurpura near.

Addressing a press meet at Udupi Press club here on Saturday, September 19, President of the Vishwasadamane Anathashram Sunil John D’souza said that a middle aged woman was roamed around on the street of Mangaluru with mental depression. The team of Sunil brought her to the Anathashram on 14^th September 2008.

He said that a woman named Mallika Begam Khatoon (55) from Assam who has five children. The second son called Tahajuddin along with his relatives was arrived to the Ashram on September 17 at Shankarpura. Along with her son and others, Mallika Begam will leave the Ashram to Assam after fully recovered from mental depression.

Sunil D’souza said it was very difficult to treat her in Ashram that she does not know any languages except Bangali. Even she was not able to say her actual name that used to say many names. She only used to say that she came from Durga village of Assam. She told us near about 25 addresses and we sent letters concerned as per her, but all letters came back due to false address. We called the police officials at Assam but not able to trace her village.

After she has recovered, whoever it may leave Ashram after the complete recoveries, she had been upset that when my number will come to leave the Ashram. In order to treat the inmates, doctor and staff of KMC Manipal used to visit the Ashram. Once a student of KMC came to treat her with her team of KMC was succeeded to trace her address after speaking with Mallika Begam. She collected the some of the important details from the Mallika and has been succeeded to contact Mallika’s family members in Assam, he said.

Mallika Begum was so happy to talk with her son and other family members in phone. She was recognized her son when he came to the Ashram and cried with happiness to receive her son. Sunil said that Mallika will leave to Bengaluru today evening on Saturday and reach her destination after four days of travelling.

Tajauddin her son said that when he was 12 years, his father was passed away and till then his mother became depressed very much. Once she was missing from the house and we searched her throughout all the places and we didn’t found her. We didn’t complain the police that we are not able to do so. Now after 12 years I miraculously found my mother. This would be great incident of my life and nothing else, he said.
