Udupi : Sri Narayana Guru Vichara Vedike (Reg) condemns the refusal of display tabeau containing idol of Brahmashree Narayana Guru representing Kerala state on the Republic Day parade to be taken place on January 26 in New Delhi, said Satyajit Suratkal, State President of SNGV (Sri Narayana Guru Vichara Vedike).
Addressing a media conference at Udupi Press Club here on Monday January 17 Satyajit Surathkal said that we believe Sri Narayana Guru is saint who gave a hope for oppressed people. He gave ray of hope in the life of oppressed people at large. He taught people to be independent through education through organization. Hence he is known Aksara Brahma. He propagated peaceful o-existence of Hindus, Muslims and Christians. The great thinkers of the country ike Babasaheb Ambedkar Mahatma Gandhji and Ravindranth Tagore were inspired by Naryna Guru’s teachings, he said.
Satyajit said that for us really painful that the Central Selection Committee fo Republic Day parade has rejected the tableau of Narayana Guru. The refusal of tableau of great leader who fought for the equality of women, backward class people and eradicated the classes in society based on caste and religion.
He said that every people of the ountry who dreams of equality in society should condemn this act of Central Government. The refusal of this tableau is insult that is done to the great leader of backward communities and dalit people. We have handing over memo through deputy commissioner to Prime Minister in regard to the refusal of this tableau by the central selection committee for republic day parade for reconsider the decision and allow the this tableau, he said.
