No notification from district adminstration to Santhekatte junction overpass, work will start from next week - Raghupathy Bhat

Print Udupi : All of sudden stopped the work of Vecular overpass to be constructed at Santhekatte junction which only took two hour works had done and vehicular traffic closed on NH66 after 4-5days.
Speaking to media persons at Udupi Press Club on the sudden stop of the said work on NH66 at Santhekatte, Kallianpur junction, Raghupathy Bhat said that without notification from the District Deputy Commissioner, the work had started and DC asked to stop the work.
The NH 66 overpass work will be done after the clearance of the district administration, which is supposed to be from next week. The bride should be completed within one year as per the agreement. The work has started without the arrangement of alternative vehicular traffic. Present service is not comfortable for heavy traffic on the weak service road.
He said that alternative arrangements should be made to traffic from Udupi side through Santhekatte junction to Kallianpur road and to be directed to move alongside the side of the weekly market to NH66 Pakkibettu. The traffic to and from Udupi-Manipal to be diverted Udupi-Manipal-Simbra Bridge, Kolalgiri to KG Road Uppoor, he said.
There will be a meeting with district administration and other officials on tomorrow and day after tomorrow to discuss the solution of NH66 Santhekatte, Kallianpur overbridge work on alternative arrangements of vehicular traffic. It has been necessary to solve the overall problems facing the citizens as well as the large student community , he said.
