Udupi : In relation to Silver Jubilee celebration of Udupi district, the district administration will celebrate Beach Utshav at Malpe beach from January 20 to 22, 2023.

Addressing a press meet at DC court hall, Kurma Rao and Udupi MLA Raghupathy Bhat said on Monday, January 9, this year the Beach Utshav will be celebrated in grand and special manner. The district administration for the first time Cliff Dive in St Mary’s Island and Scooba Dive will be organized in Kaup beach. We are trying to introduce Cliff Dive in St Mary’s Island continuously remains for other days also. Hence, in order to attract tourists especially foreigners’ will encourage the tourism industry in the district. Moreover, the district administration work for the point out other tourist destinations, Raghupathy Bhat said.

On 21^st January Swimming Federation of India and Karnataka Swimming Association jointly organized national level swimming competitions of 5 k.m., 7.5k.m. and 10k. m. and 1.25 km relay . On 21^st and 22^nd Kabbadi matches will be held from 4pm to 7pm for men. For women on 22^nd Throw ball matches will be held from 10am. On 20^th Art camop/ Painting and photography sculpture competitions will be held.

Meanwhile from 20^th January Wine festival will be held. Water Sports – Aqua Sports Jet SKI Wind Surfing Banana Ride- Kayaking, Helicopter ridem Scooba Diving, Jif line, Angling and Cliff dive will be organized. Dog show on 22^nd after 4pm will be held and good prizes will be given amounted Rs.50,000, Rs.25,000, Rs.15,000 and Rs. 10,000 in various segments.

DC said that on account of silver jubilee celebration of the Udupi district, Rathayatra has been most successful and going around the district. Free parking available  at  Malpe from 20^th to 22^nd January at beach areas in order to move easily for the tourists and the people. There is no sanction from the government available. However, MRPL is the main sponsor for the celebrations. We offer donations from the kind hearted people, DC and Raghupathy Bhat said.
