Milagres Cathedral celebrates "Vespers’(Besp) with great devotion

Print Udupi : Milagres Cathedral of Udupi diocese, Kallianpur near here celebrated Vespers’ (Besp) on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
In the evening the Vespers liturgy started with evening prayers, and then the ‘ ’Cheryl’ was blessed in front of Milagres Tri-centenary Hall by the main celebrant of the Vespers’ Rev Fr. Lenson Lobo, Capuchin, Campus Manager of Nirmala Schools, Brahmavar, followed by procession from Milagres Tri-centenary Hall to the Cathedral.
The evening Vespers’ prayer led by Fr. Lenson Lobo, Capuchin along with a large number of priests from Deanery, native parish priests, guest priests, Pilar Fathers and former priests of Milagres.
In his beautiful homily, Fr Lenson Lobo highlighted the role of Mother Mary to keep the word of God. Mother Mary is great in obeying the word of God. She sacrificed her life to God by following the word of God. She kept her relation with God and mediated with God with His word of good news. Mother Mary heard deeply the word of God and faithfully listened to it, followed it. So, today if we honor Mary, the most important way to honor Mary is by imitating her as the first of disciples. This is what we must do: hear the word of God, listen to it deeply and keep that word. She was a mediator between the relations of God.
At the end brief adoration and blessings of Holy Sacrament was held. The Rector of the Cathedral delivered brief announcements and gratitude to all concerned.
As usual, a large crowd gathered in the Cathedral campus. ICYM members organized various entertainment and games in their stall. The jam-packed crowd without a caste bar witnessed the Vespers’ evening.
