The Youth Commission of Udupi Diocese initiated Youth Awareness Programme

The Youth Commission of the Diocese of Udupi initiated Youth Awareness Programme in St. Francis Xavier Parish, Kenha-Mudarangady on Sunday, 8th December 2013 at 9:00 a.m. Fortynine (49) youth members (23 boys & 26 girls), drawn from ICYM & YCS from the parish, participated in the programme.
Rev. Louis DSa, parish priest, Rev. Edwyn DSouza, Director, Diocesan Commission for Youth (ICYM/YCS/YSM), Udupi, and Mr. Leslie Aroza Thottam, Diocesan Coordinator & Counsellor, presided over the programme. Mr. Joseph DSouza, Vice President and Mrs. Janet Barboza, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Parishad were also present.
The programme began with the lighting of a lamp by the guests. Rev. Louis DSa, parish priest, highlighted the importance of the program. In the first session, Mr. Leslie Aroza briefed about the human values and role of the youth in the parish and society as well. In the second session, Rev. Edwyn DSouza, known for his leadership qualities and motivating spirit, called upon the youth to be active and vigilant throughout, as the youth in any society were an asset, force and strength to reckon with.

The Coordinators of ICYM and YCS at the parish level, Mrs. Theresa DSouza and Mrs. Shobha Fernandes respectively, were also present.  At the end of the programme, lunch was served to everyone.
