Print Kallianpur/Santhekatte, Aug 11, 2014: A minority community meeting presented by Fr. Reginald Pinto was held this morning at the mount rosary church premises. Information of establishing and forming a co-operative for minorities women ( A Bank) and to their families was explained by Fr. Reginald. Details about the government grants to minorities and to their families, the benefits of such co-operatives , Swasahayaka Sangha’s was given.
Fr. Reginald said that, to become members of these Swasahayaka Sangha, one need to enrol their names and requested all the women to enrol their named to become the members and to avail the benefits from the co-operative society. Information related to the health and family traditions for the unity of the community was also shared by Fr. Reginald. Emergency related tips were given to the ladies, like a lady who is in her 80’s and facing some kind of emergency, then she was advised to give miss call alerts to other community members who can help her out in such cases.
Mrs. Meena Pinto, President of Thenkanidoor Panchayat, Mrs. Helen Fernandes member of Kallianpur Panchayat and office bearers of Catholic Sabha, Mrs. Beena Lewis, Bharath Nirman Volunteers Mrs. Mariett Furtado, Joseph Rebello, Mrs. Clara Rego, Benidicata Menezes, youth animators were present During the programme.
Sr. Teresa Martis, Co-ordinator for women, Diocese of Udupi was present during the event. Maria Lewis of holy family ward, President of Sri Sanghatan women’s forum co-ordinated the event at the mount rosary, Kallianpur. A call also has been given to all those women who miss the event to enrol their names to become the members and to avail the benefits of this co-operative.
