 ‘Zana Saglo Gaaun’ Konkani play on Oct 5 by Konkani Natak Sabha(R), Mangalore.

Mangalore, Aug 26, 2014: The Muhurth of ’Zana Saglo Gaaun’ a Konkani Play written by Joker Cascia to be staged on the Occasion of the 71st Anniversary of the Konkani Natak Sabha(R) was held on Monday August 25 at Don Bosco Hall, Mangalore.

Joseph Mathias, Managing Director of MERIT FREIGHT SYSTEMS CO. LLC, Dubai , Sangeeth Saurab Stany Mendonca, Enterpreuner and poet Ancy Paladka were the chief guests. The guests present on the occasion lit the lamp and sought divine intervention for the success of the play.

Joseph Mathias handed over the script to director Adolphus Cutinha (Dolla, Mangalore). The theme of the play was later narrated by Dolla and the roles were distributed to the artists and informed that the drama will be played on 5th October 2014 at 5.30 PM in the Don Bosco Hall.

Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza presented the copies of the plot to all artists of the play. Joseph Mathias lauded the works of the KNS in promoting Konkani language and culture by organizing various programmes which inspired him to work for the cause of Konkani. He called upon everyone present to speak Konkani and teach their children Konkani. In gulf countries children have started speaking Konkani and many programmes are organized to promote Konkani language and culture’ he said. He appealed that everyone should watch all Konkani dramas without giving preference to a particular artist or organization and wished success to all artists and director.

Stany Mendonca congratulated the Konkani Natak Sabha and wished success for the drama. Ancy Paladka said ’this drama by Joker Cascia is a best play and now under the direction of Dolla it will be a different experience’. He wished through his poetry all artists a success.

Asst Director Claud D’Souza, Vice-president Dolphy Saldanha, General secretary Sunil Menezes, joint secretary Jery Pinto and treasurer Prem Lobo were also present.

President Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza welcomed the gathering. General secretary Sunil Menezes proposed the vote of thanks and Raymond D’Cunha compeered the programme.
