Print Mr. Roque Saldanha laid to rest.
Kemmannu, Nov 10: Mr. Roque Saldanha who passed away on Saturday was laid to rest at the Kemmannu church cemetery on Monday, November 10, 2014. A record number of family members, relatives, parishioners and well wishers joined in the celebration of the funeral mass and paid their last respect to a noble soul of Kemmannu.
Fr. Valerian D’Souza, former Episcopal of Udupi led the mass along with Parish Priest Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves and 8 other priests. Fr. Clement mascarenhas in his homily highlighted the noble qualities of Mr. Roque saldanha as seen by him as a former parish priest of Kemmannu. Mrs. Veronica Cornelio paid tributes on behalf of the parishioners and praised his selfless service to the society especially in associations like SVP and Catholic Sabha.
Representatives from various church associations paid their last respect by placing bouquets and flowers. Later he was laid to rest at the church cemetery.

Kemmannu, Nov 8. 2014: Roque Saldanha a simple, humble and a man of few words from Kodi Ward of the Kemmannu Parish, one of the strong pillar and a man of all seasons for the Parish Community, locals and the needy throughout his life has breathed his last on the 8th of Nov, at 10.30 PM. S/o Late Lawrence and late Mary Saldanha, brother of the late Valerian, the late Marceline, the late Pauline, late Fr JJ Saldanha, the late Thomas, Raphael, and Peter. He was elected more than 5 times vice president St Theresa church kemmannu and active council member of St Theresa church , active St Vincent Paul Socity member more than 50 years, Third Order of St. Franciscan active member 53 years.
Roque Saldanha Husband of Benedicta Saldanha, kodi ward of St. Theresa’s Church, Kemmannu.
He was the Father of Ronald/ Renilda, Connie/Victor, Antony/Lavina, Winnie/Anand, Donald/Reshma, Vijay/Roshani, Sunil/Pramilla.
And the Grand father of Reynal, Carol, Christopher, Allen, Alban, Meryll, Ria, Ruben, Branston, , Sherol,Mark.
Funeral Details:
Funeral cortege leaves residence Kripa Mandir , Kodi, Kemmannu at 3.30 PM on 10th of November (Monday) to St. Theresa’s Church, Kemmannu. Funeral Mass at 4.00 PM.
