Bunts Sambrama - Bunts Food Festival with Cultural Fusion and Dandiya Night

Bahrain, Nov 2014: A Home away from Home was the feeling as Indians in Bahrain gathered to witness ‘Bunts Sambrama’ organized by Bunts Community residing in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Indian Club on 5th October witnessed  over 40 varieties of Veg, Non – Veg with Desert & snacks traditional Bunts Cuisine during the food  festival organized to celebrate the festival of Dassera, Dandiya & Diwali. Indian Guests Mr. Dayanand  Shetty famous as CID Daya, Omnipreneur Mr. Shantharama Shetty, Caricature artists Mr. Prashanth Shetty fondly known as Chitra Mitra with Ms. Anuradha and Cine artist Businessman Mr. Harish Vasu Shetty were welcomed into the venue with Kumbha Swagat and Chend.

The grand evening saw opening  from Mr. Tejas Jaya Shetty reciting the prayer song followed by Bharatanatyam Inaugural dance  choreographed by Mrs. Aastika Sunil Shetty. The Hindu Mythological gods Ganesha, Sri Krishna and  Hanuman seemed so touched by the evening that they presented in the form of paintings by Chitra Mitra.    Bunts Bahrain over its decade of existence has been constantly organizing such events and raising funds utilized towards development of its deprived people thereby providing a light of hope in their dark lives  and to symbolize this all the ex-presidents with the guests and prominent dignitaries Mr. Shantharam  Shetty of Ramee Group and Mr. Naveen Shetty of Auma Group were invited for lightening the lamp and  the background lamps to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights. Kids, the future of tomorrow displayed  their talent and confidence in fashion show choreographed by Ms. Harini S Shetty followed by an  energetic medley of hit dance numbers choreographed by Mrs. Hema Shivakumar Shetty.

Our Bunts food experts Mrs. Ashalatha Shantharam Shetty, Mrs. Lakshmi Krishna Shetty, Mrs. Jayashree Rama Shetty, Mrs. Yashoda Prakash Shetty, Mrs. Saraswathi Mandar Shetty and Mrs. Sundari Jagdish Shetty had a hard time judging our traditional bunts cuisine ranging from vegetarian uppukaris, rasam and koddel to Non vegetarian curry, pulimuchi, ghassi and sukka of chiken, mutton, fish, marvai combined with pundi, dosa, buns. Even today’s Bunts women are good with ancient sweets involving paysam, adde, pathrode. The evening reached its climax with Chitra Mitra astonished everyone with Narendra Modi’s canvas handed  over to Mr. Anand Lobo for 100 years of The Indian Club.

Mr. Doomanna Rai thanked the Ramee Group, Auma, SNT Properties for being the Main sponsors and  LIC International, Al-Baraq Electrical, Good Deal Trading, Lubi for sponsoring the event; Mr. Mandar  Shetty & Mr. Roshan Shetty for introducing the guests, Mrs. Prathima Arun Shetty and Ms. Vijetha M Shetty for anchoring the program, Mrs. Shruthi Nithin Shetty, Mrs. Sujyothi Jagannath Shetty, Mrs.  Ramya Sandeep Alva and Mrs. Nireeksha Naveen Alva for profile reading, dance choreographers and participants along with every supporter for contributing towards the success of program.

Curtains came down with Dandiya performance followed by the audience dancing to the tune of DJ.  The day ended with dinner catering from Mr. Savin Shetty owned Papillion Restaurant.
