Udupi : UDDAN – 2014 organizing Committee held Udupi District Dentists Association the first ever mega Convention of Dentists in Udupi District at Madhava Krishna Auditorium, Hotel Kidiyoor here on Sunday, 23^rd November, 2014.

Dr. Bharath Shetty Vice President of Dental Sciences, Mangalore and Principal of AJ Institute of Dental Sciences, Manipal presided the occasion. Dr. Ramachandra Bairy DHO, Udupi District, Surendranath KT General Manger of Sai Radha Surgicals, Dr. Shandeep Shenoy President IMA, Udupi District, Dr. Sanath Shetty President IDA, Dakshina Kannada Branch, Dr. Prathibha Panduranga President IDA, Manipal Dr. Ramesh Shenoy Ex-Vice President of IDA – National Level and Ex-President of IDA, Karnataka State, Dr. Roshan Shetty EC member, IDA, Karnataka State and others among present on the dais.

The program was inuaugrated by Dr. Bharath Shetty along with others on the dais. During the occasion Senior retired dentists Dr. Mohandas Shetty, Kundapur, Dr. Ramanand Sooda, Dr. Lakshman Hegde, Dr. Baburao, Dr. Ramesh Shenoy, Dr. Sudarshan Ballal and Dr. U. Venkatraj were felicitated.

Meanwhile inauguration of association website www.udupidentist.com held. Cultural programs were held after the stage programme.

Earlier Dr. Manoj D’Lima of Brahmaver welcomed the gatherings with presentation of bouquet of flower to the chief guests on the dais. Dr. Nirmala Rao, Dr. Ramachandra Bairy and other spoke during the occasion. Dr. Bharath Shetty gave his presidential address said that association is important so that one would not be left alone. He spoke about the continuous dental education (CDE), and he said about the awareness on medico legal cases. He gave tips to Dentists not to ignore of things happenings around. He also pointed out some of social responsibilities as well.

Large number of dentists along with their family at large participated during the get together program and along with cultural programs various games also conducted by Dr. Manoj D’Lima and others. The fellowship meal was served to all the participants.
