Uppoor ward of Milagres celebrated Annual Ward Fest

Print Udupi : Uppoor ‘A’ ward of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur celebrated their ‘Annual Ward Feast’ with a thanksgiving mass on Saturday, 6th December 2014 at 4:30 pm. The mass was conducted by Rev. Fr. Stany B Lobo in honour of their patron St Sebastian.
The following day, 7th December 2014, a get-together was organized at the residence of Mr. Charles D’Souza around 12 noon. Parish priest Rev Fr. Stany B Lobo, Fr. Mahesh D’Souza and Fr. Rolwin Aranha graced the occasion with their presence. Mr. Walter Cyril Pinto and Mrs. Prescilla Lewis were the guests of honour.
The program commenced with a welcome dance by Stacy D’Souza. Ward guardian Mrs. Gloria Lewis presented the welcome speech which was followed by a brief report of the ward activities by Mrs. Junitha D’Souza. Fr Stany Lobo speaking on the occasion expressed happiness on the unity of the ward members.
Melba Deena Lewis of Syrian Orthodox Church residing in our ward was honoured with scholarship for securing 5th rank in BCA Mangalore University. As well Avin Dsilva, Anona Lewis and Daylen Lewis of our ward were honoured with scholarship.
A skit on ‘Adverse Effects of Plastics’ was performed by the ward members along with a group song and a comedy act. Thereafter a dance was performed by Rohith Rodrigues. Fun games were conducted and songs were sung by children and elders. Galvin Lewis celebrated his birthday. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Anita D’Silva. The entire program was compered by Mrs. Veena Rodrigues.
The celebration ended with a delicious lunch prepared by the ward members followed by baila dance. In the evening once again ward members got together for dinner and Housie-housie game was held.
