Udupi 29th January 2015: D.S. Research Centre has continuously made efforts to contribute towards cancer treatment and now after completing 50 years of its journey, D.S.Research Centre’s name is not only known in India, but has also reached across the borders too.  D. S. Research Center, a premier research institute developing treatments through the Science of Nutrient Energy based on Ancient Ayurveda across India, will launch a special drive to create awareness about  cancer, its treatments and rehabilitation. With the motto of saving our  world from cancer.

Today, it has five centres all over India – Varanasi, Kolkata, Guwahati , Bengaluru  and Mumbai. New clinics at Delhi, Hyderabad, Siliguri etc are at immediate organizational agenda. Dr. Gitanjali , (Ayurvedacharyya and Medical In-Charge of D.S.Research Centre)- Said  “With a million new cases being reported every year, cancer seems to be tightening its grip on India. the incidence of the killer disease is expected to rise five-fold by 2025. Cancer is one of the leading causes of deaths in India, which has nearly three million patients suffering from the disease. Annually, nearly 500,000 people die of cancer in India. The WHO said this number is expected to rise to 700,000 by 2015. 

"The number of cancer cases in India is increasing every year.Lung, oral, lip, throat and neck cancers are the most common among men while women suffer more from cervix, breast and ovarian cancers. Causes of cancer, include genetic factors; lifestyle factors such as tobacco, alcohol use, diet, and physical activity; certain types of viral  infections; and environmental exposures to different types of chemicals and radiation.Ignorance among the public, delayed diagnosis and lack of adequate medical facilities has given cancer the dubious distinction of being a "killer disease". However, the fact remains that if cancer is detected in its early stages, it can be treated and an individual can lead a healthy life
