Udupi : Five deacons of Holy Trinity, Karnataka Province were ordained during the Eucharistic celebrations led by His Lordship Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi diocese at Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte, Kallianpur near here on Thursday, 23^rd April, 2015. The ordination held in the presence of around 70 priests and large number of devotees.

In his homily Bishop pointed out the role of priests during their priesthood in particular. He said priest is the person of God who selected from the people and for the people. He will grow in the midst of God’s shade with the reflection of God. Priest would rich person. The priest should be in three principles that he is the person of the God who transform the goods news of God. He is the person of God and so unite with God during the prayer. He should without fear transform the good news of God for the people. He is the person to built Christian community.

The newly ordained five priests Fr. Walter Prashant D’Souza of St. Peter Claver Church Arva, Fr. Praveen Stephen D’Souza from St. Joseph’s Church Belman, Fr. Preetham Rayan Mendonca from Our Lady of Fatima Church, Pernal Fr. Prakash Melwyn Colaco from St. Francis Xavier’s Church, Udyavara and Fr. Ravi Rajesh Serrao from St. Raphael Church, Badyar.

Followed by the ordination mass, Very Rev Fr. Joseph Dolphy Pais Provincial of Holy Trinity Province gave wishes to newly ordained priests. He also gave thanks to Bishop, priests and nuns, parish priest of Mount Rosary church rev Fr. Philip Nery Aranha, Choir master Rev Fr. Mahesh D’souza and all concerned for the successful occasion of ordination of capuchin Friars. Rev Fr. Naveen Santhosh D’souza Capuchin compered the liturgical services.

After the church programs, the felicitation program held at Mount Rosary Millennium Hall which Fr. Joseph Dolphy Pais presided. Rev Fr. Philip Nery Aranha, Rev Fr. Joswey Fernandes Capuchin, newly ordained priests as well as their parents were present on the dais.

The newly ordained priests as well as their parents were felicitated during the occasion. Prior to the program invocation prayer dance organized by Mount Rosary School. The felicitation program was compered by Rev Fr. Chetan Lobo Capuchin and also he welcomed the gatherings. On behalf of ordained priests Rev Fr. Walter Prashant D’souza proposed vote of thanks.
