Print Rotary Club of Shankerpura celebrate ‘Aatid Ongi Dina’
Udupi, Aug 13, 2015: Rotary Club Shankerpura celebrated ‘Aatid Ongi Dina’ (A day in Aashada month) on Monday, 10th August 2015 jointly with Inner Wheel Club Shankerpura.
Like previous years this year also programme was arranged at Rotary Centenary Bhavan. The function began with prayer by Annet Lynn Rebello. The President of the Club Rtn. Clifford D’Mello welcomed the Guest, invitees, Rotarians and members of Inner Wheel Club Shankerpura. On this occasion inducted Mr Chandrakanth d’sa as new member to Club. Rtn. Sathyendra Pai, Assistant Governor, Zone III, RI Dist 3180, delivered introductory talk. Also present on the dais Rtn. Francis D’Sa, Zonal Lieutenant, Zone III, RI Dist 3180, Mrs. Sameera Rebello, President and Mrs. Ivy D’Souza, Secretary of Inner Wheel, Shankerpura.
The chief Guest and the resource person on this occasion was Smt. Kusuma Kamath a talented and well-known Drama writer and Director, Poetess, Singer, from Alevoor, Udupi. She entertained the audience with mimicry and with good humour. The songs she sang were specially prepared for the occasion.
Keeping the tradition and culture of costal Karnataka, the menu was selected specially for this occasion. Sumptuous vegetarian food served in banana leaves and was enjoyed by one and all.
Club Secretary Rtn. Anil D’Sa proposed vote of thanks. The entire programme was compeered by Rtn. U.Nandan Kumar and Rtn. Naveen Amin.
