The song would be released in multiple languages over the course of a few months.
“Show some mercy on the riders,” appeals this singer and software engineer, in his latest Konkani music video addressed to roads.
Distraught at the rise of road accidents especially on the Udupi-Mangalore stretch, 26-year-old Prajoth D’sa from Udupi released a music video on Friday.
Speaking to The News Minute, Prajoth, who has sung in over 70 Konkani music albums says, “The umpteen number of potholes on the roads is the main reason for the alarming number of accident cases especially on the Udupi-Mangalore stretch. The song has been conceptualized in a way addressing the roads and appeal to them to be kind to the riders.”
Having lost a childhood friend to a tragic road accident years ago, and a recent accident that took away the life of another friend, Prajoth decided to pay tribute to victims of road accidents by what he does best – sing.
One of the lines goes: "Flowers are good enough for hairdo, but not on the dead."
Though satisfied about the responses on the video, he shares that he has not had the courage to share it with the families of his two friends who lost their lives in two separate accidents.
His friend Wilson Kateel has penned the lyrics of the 3 minute 5 seconds music video. Prajoth says that the video, that has over two thousand views on Youtube has garnered positive responses from the people so far.
However, he feels that releasing the music video in Konkani has limited its reach: “I initially wanted to release the song in Hindi and Kannada because it would ensure wider reach, but then decided not to.”
Prajoth adds that the song would be released in multiple languages over the course of a few months.
