Manipal : Fortune Inn Valley View celebrated tradition of preparing Christmas confectionary by inviting the hotel guests to mix exotic seasonal nuts and condiments for the cake as it is an essential part of the festive season on Thursday, 24^th November, 2016.

The age old tradition of cake-mixing to usher in good tidings and happiness is an essential part of the festive season. The history of the cake-mixing ceremony dates back to the 17^th century, when it marked the arrival of the harvest season.

During this time lots of fruits and nuts were harvested and prepared to go into the making of the traditional plum cake. The mix was saved up for the next harvest season with the hope that the coming year would bring with it another abundant year. This ceremony quickly metamorphosed to an intimate congregation, with family coming together to soak dry fruits in wine or rum in hoping that the fine flavor would fill their Christmas with delectable sweetness.

Prior to the beginning of the ceremony, Uday Sharma General Manager shared that Christmas cake missing is a tradition to celebrate togetherness and welcome the festive season.

While speaking with media persons, Dr. H. S. Ballal said that it has the tradition of preparing Christmas confectionary by inviting guests to mix seasonal nuts and condiments for the cake. The mixture made by our guests is going to be stored till Christmas day so that the dry fruits can macerate well for the plum cake. The flavors need to blend in perfectly. The main idea is to make the guests feel that they have played a significant part in making the Christmas cake and thereby increasing the festive. We are giving all importance to all the religions festivals. The theme of this year would be save the girl when attention should be given to save the girl. Even now also some people especially in Northern Part of India, girl has killed in their womb. Now we can see that in India most of public sector and even private sector banks women has appointed to the top post. We should not neglect the girl or women to live.
