Udupi, Dec 7, 2016:: The Milagres Cathedral Church Kallianpur is all set to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of the building from December 9 to 12.

As part of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations various development projects are initiated. The Present Church was built in 1940. The new Facade is built in remembrance of the Platinum Jubilee year. The Church roof has also been repaired.

The Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the Milagres Cathedral building will be held on December 12. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi diocese will bless the newly built Church Facade and thereafter offer the Thanksgiving Mass at 10 am.

The Public function of the platinum jubilee celebrations of the church will be held under the leadership of the Bishop. Msgr Baptist Menezes vicar general of the Diocese, Pramod Madhwaraj district minister in charge Udupi, Ivan D’Souza chief whip of legislative council, Oscar Fernandes MP Rajya Sabha, J R Lobo MLA Mangaluru south constituency, Dinakar Babu ZP president, Wilson Rodgrigues and Janardhan Tonse ZP members, Nalini Pradeep Rao president TP, Pushpa Kotian president Kallinapur gram Panchayat will be participating in the programme as guests of honour. A fellowship meal at 1:30 pm will be served to all attending the platinum jubilee celebrations. Konkani Drama ‘Koni Kaay Unyar Na’ by Kalamrth team Kundapur will be performed in the evening 6:30 pm.

To mark the occasion, three events will be organised. The day of Remembrance of the deceased parishioners will be held in the evening of December 9 at 5:30 pm. Fr Vincent Ferandes Rector of Minor Seminary will offer the Eucharistic mass, followed by a candle light procession and Prayers in the Cemetery. The day of Religious will be held on December 10 at 4:30 pm. Msgr Baptist Menezes vicar general of the Diocese will offer the Eucharistic mass, followed by a Felicitation programme. The day of Youth will be held on December 11 at 11 am Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi diocese will offer the Eucharistic mass. As part of NYC cross which is being taken throughout the diocese will be handed over to the Mangaluru diocese on the occasion.
