Miscreants vandalize Statue of St. Anthony at Shirva Church

Print Udupi : The statue of St. Anthony was vandalized by unknown miscreants at Our Lady of Good Health Church,
Shirva on Sunday, 11th December, 2016.
A few parishioners noticed the vandalized the statue of St. Anthony was kept in portico of the church and informed the parish priest of the church Very Rev Fr. Stany Tauro about the incident. The incident was reported to Shirva Police station. The police arrived the spot with sniffer dog to get the clues of culprits.
Wilson D’souza Shirva Parish council Vice President and Assistant parish priest Rev Fr. Canute Noronha and large number of parishioners were gathered at the incident spot immediately.
Another statue of St. Lawrence kept down on the floor of the portico without any damage.
Halamurty Rao Circle Inspector and B. Laxman Shirva Sub-inspector are proceeding further investigation on the incident.
