The activists of Nagarika Samiti in a protest carried a person from taluk panchayat office in a procession, up to the morgue of the district government hospital here on Wednesday July 28. The activists presented a memorandum in this regard to the deputy commissioner Hemalatha P, urging the district administration to restore the facility at the earliest.

Hitendra Prasad Murder suspect Pitty Nagesh assaulted in Udupi, condition critical in KMC Manipal
Miscreants armed with weapons assaulted Pitty Nagesh near korangrapady, Kukkikatte, Udupi. Nagesh was admitted to KMC Manipal and in a critical condition. Nagesh is suspected for a key role in the murder of Hitendra Prasad, the editor of Hai Murutha kannada fortnightly. The Miscreants arrived in a Maruti Zen followed Hitendra Prasad while he went out for a cup of tea with his friends assaulted and sped away towards karkalla. District Police activated the entire system to nab the assailants.
