TRADITIONAL FISHING AT PERLAKADI ON GOOD FRIDAY.
This year the catch was very good as the group led by Arun Fernandes caught 12 ‘Kulegi Kurlai (Guru) fish and Reginald Furtado’s group caught 8 of the same kind by 9 am. Fishing will continue up to 11 am. Beside Guru Fish, other kind like ‘lank’ ‘sarkari’ and other kind are also caught in plenty. As a prelude to the holy week, Kemmannu parishners took part in the celebration of Palm Sunday. The palm leaves were blessed at the convent ground in the morning. Fr.Naveen Prakash Pinto along with Fr. J.B. Dsouza led the brief prayers before the blessing. Holy water was sprinkled on the palm leaves and people proceeded to the church in a disciplined procession.
