Manipal Arogya Card Scheme 2010 Last date extended to 31st July 2010
Udupi:July,26. Dr (AVM) T S Raghu Raman AVSM, Medical Superintendent, Kasturba Hospital announced that the Manipal Arogya Card enrollment date has been extended to 31st July 2010. There was a Popular demand to extend the date as people were not able to make the enrolment. Speaking about the benefits to the members of the scheme, Dr Raghu Raman said that Rs 3.5 crore were given off as concessions to the members in 2009 scheme.
Giving details of the Manipal Arogya Card Scheme, Dr (AVM) T S Raghu Raman AVSM said; “By paying a small sum, anybody can become a member and can avail of the facilities. Those interested can become members till July 31, 2010”. One of the advantage of the Manipal Arogya Card is that it do not have Pre-existing disease clause. The benefit is given on the final bill and hence full benefit is passed on to the members. There is no upper limit or maximum limit for giving benefit. Manipal Arogya Card can be used any number of times during the year, Dr Raghu Raman added.
About the benefits of the Scheme, Dr Parvathi Bhat,, Medical Superintendent, Dr T M A Pai Hospital, Udupi said; “ Free consultations with any specialist / super specialist doctor any number of times during the year is the most attractive part of the scheme for out patients. There is a 20% discount on diagnostics and laboratory investigations”. “There is a 10% rebate on medicines purchased from the hospital pharmacy with prescriptions. And there is also a flat 25% concession on the In patient bill ( excluding consumables) for any number of times during the year and 10% concession on medicines purchased from pharmacy,” she said.
Manipal Arogya Card is a unique scheme in which the discounts on treatment can be availed on pre-existing diseases as well. Manipal Arogya Card is priced at just Rs 200/- for an individual card and Rs 450/- for a family card. Family includes the card holder, spouse and children below 21 years of age (any number of children). An add-on card is also available for the parents of primary card holders under the family card scheme for Rs 100/- per parent. For renewal card, 10% discount on membership fee is offered.
Applications for the scheme is available at all networked hospitals under Manipal Health Systems and Syndicate Bank branches A “Helpdesk” has been set-up at each participating hospital to provide more information about the Manipal ArogyaCard Scheme.
