Kemmannu, April 25, 2017: Popular Teacher of Kemmannu, Theresa Pais (78) who passed away yesterday was laid to rest at Mount Rosary Cemetery, Kallianpur. Her last journey began at 3.30 pm from her residence at Hampankatte, Kemmannu. Kemmannu Parish Priest Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves blessed the mortal remains at her home.
Over a thousand grieving people gathered at the church and paid their last respect to the teacher with tearful eyes. Fr. Ferdinand along with Fr. Francis Cornelio led the funeral Mass and rituals. Mrs. Veronica Cornelio tendered the Tribute and paid rich tribute to Theresa Teacher on behalf of the gathered. Fr. Ferdinand said that even though she did not had her own family with her, Kemmannites treated her as their own and she was feeling that all Kemmannites were her family.
After the prayers at the cemetery, she was laid to rest in the tomb where her mother was interred 21 years earlier. May she rest in peace.
