A day out in the Mud Fields- Sea Star Friends Kemmannu organize ’Kesarrdonji Dina’.

Kemmannu, August 6, 2017: To keep of the tradition of spending time in the fields as our elders did a few years ago, Sea Star Friends Kemmannu, a group of young Kemmannites organized ‘Baley Kesarrddu Gobbuga’ an event of Games, sports, fun and frolic. Children from the age of 3, youngsters and elders took part in the daylong event and needless to say enjoyed to the core.

Earlier in the day Mrs. Veronica Cornelio, AICC state Secretary along with other dignitaries inaugurated the event. Sea Star Friends President Mr.Raviraj Shetty along with ZP member Mr. Janardhan Thonse, Kallianpur GP President Mrs. Pushpa Kotian, were present on the occasion. A procession from Gudiyam main road to Baggarbettu, the venue of the event was taken along with Nasik Band, and drums. The games were inaugurated by having a Buffalo race.

Games including the Treasure Hunt, 100 meters Relay, Sack Race, Three Legs Race, 4x100 Relay, Tug Of War, Kabbadi, Throw Ball, and Volley Ball were held throughout the day. Local and teams from outside Kemmannu enthusiastically took part an enjoyed the games.

At the concluding ceremony held at the end, Mr. Raviraj Shetty presided over the function with dignitaries like Fr. Victor D Souza Parish Priest of Kemmannu, Mr. Damodhar, S I of Malpe Police Station, Mrs. Padmakshi S., Principle of Govt. Jr. College Kemmannu, Mrs. Rekha Satish Shetty, Mr. Amit Poojary and Mr. Thomas D Souza of Kemmannu.com were present on the dais and presented trophies and cash prizes to the winners.

On the occasion Mr. Vishu Shetty Ambalpady, renowned Social Worker of Udupi District of honored and felicitated by Sea Star Friends.

Minister of State for Fisheries, Youth Services and Sports and Udupi District In-charge Mr. Pramod Madhwaraj who was to supposed inaugurate the event in the morning but could not reach due to some urgent matters paid a surprise visit in the afternoon and congratulated the organisers. Ex-BJP MLA Mr. Raguphathi Bhat also paid a visit and congratulated the organisers and promised his full support towards such events.

Kudos to the President and all members of Sear Star Friends, who have toiled hard to organize such an memorable event which will be remembered for the long time to come.
