Heavy rains continue to lash Udupi, 3 fishing boats capsize, water entered several houses in Udupi.

Udupi, Sep 20, 2020: Heavy rains lashing the coastal belt since Saturday has flooded several low lying areas in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts besides causing extensive damage to public and private properties. Rain water entered several houses especially in Udupi district early on Sunday.

2874 residents in the district were rescued by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel. Rescue operations were carried out in Udyavara, where the Papanashini river overflowed and inundated low-lying areas, and Nittur in Udupi. Local youth including fishermen assisted disaster response personnel in rescue and relief operations.

In Kemmannu and Thonse area many-low lying residents and elders were rescued by local youths. Nikhil Menezes of Raising Smiles told KNN that till 4 in the evening they have rescued more than 50 villagers into safer places and still they were on call for any  emergency.  At around 5 pm 6 fishermen of JALA SAMPATH boat has been rescued. They were stranded at the rocks in St. Marys Island and their rescue operations were carried out by CSP Malpe Officers, staff with the help of boat owner and local fishermen in a private boat.

The parking area near Krishna Mutt in Udupi was under flood water. The Indrani rivulet in Kalsanka in Udupi was overflowing and entering the Udupi-Manipal highway. Water entered some shops and houses in Badagupete area in Udupi city. Flood water had entered the National Highway 66 (Udupi-Mangaluru) in Padubidri area.

Three fishing boats in Malpe area in Udupi district had capsized. However, 12 fishermen in them swam to safety. In addition, two more fishing boats were damaged in the same area.

Several people were stranded in houses in Malpe, Bairampally, Kukkehalli, Bailakere and Heranje areas in Udupi district as flood water entered the houses in those areas. The district administration is in the process of evacuating the stranded people . All rivers and rivulets in the two districts are in spate.

ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸತತವಾಗಿ ಮಳೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಸತತವಾಗಿ ಸುರಿದ ಮಳೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪಾರವಾದ ಆಸ್ತಿ ಪಾಸ್ತಿಗಳು ಹಾನಿಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತವೆ ಉಡುಪಿ, ಕಾಪು, ಕಾರ್ಕಳ ಮತ್ತು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ನದಿ ತೀರದ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳ ಕೆಲವು ತಗ್ಗುಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳು ಜಲಾವೃತಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು (ನೆರೆ) ಮಳೆ ನೀರು ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಆಸ್ತಿ-ಪಾಸ್ತಿಗಳು ಹಾನಿಗೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ನೆರೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀರು ನುಗ್ಗಿದ್ದು ಹಾನಿಗೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತವೆ ಹಾನಿಗೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಕೃಷಿ ಮತ್ತು ತೋಟಗಾರಿಕಾ ಬೆಳೆಗಳು ಜಲಾವೃತಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಬೆಳೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಾನಿಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

 ಉಡುಪಿ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಮೂಡನಿಡಂಬೂರು, ಅಲೆವೂರು, ಕೊರಂಗ್ರಪಾಡಿ ಉದ್ಯಾವರ, ಮಣಿಪುರ. ಕಾಪು ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಪಡು, ಪಲಿಮಾರು, ಕೋಟೆ, ಮಟ್ಟು, ಏಣಗುಡ್ಡೆ, ಮೂಡುಬೆಟ್ಟು, ಕಾರ್ಕಳ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಎರ್ಲಪಾಡಿ, ಮರ್ಣೇ, ಸೂಡ ಮತ್ತು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಉಪ್ಪೂರು, ಹಾವಂಜೆ, ನೀಲಾವರ, ಹೇರೂರು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ  ಒಟ್ಟು 77  ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳ ತಗ್ಗು ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರೆ ಆವರಿಸಿದು  ಜನರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು ಒಟ್ಟು 31 ಕಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಜಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆರೆಯಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವ ತುರ್ತು ಅಗತ್ಯ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಮಳೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಕೆಲವು ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ರಸ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇತುವೆ, ಕಟ್ಟಡಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಾನಿ ಉಂಟಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.  ಮಳೆಯಿಂದ ಹಾನಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಾಹಕ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ರಾಜ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಲೋಕೋಪಯೋಗಿ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮೆಸ್ಕಾಂ ಇವರಿಂದ ಪಡೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ತುರ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಗೆ ತಾಲೂಕು ನೋಡಲ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಿತಿಯನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ತುರ್ತು ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.   
ಮೈಸೂರಿನಿಂದ 22 ಜನರ  ಮತ್ತು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನಿಂದ 30 ಜನರ ಓಆಖಈ ಖಿeಚಿm ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದು,  ಜನರ ತುರ್ತು ಪರಿಹಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಂಡು ನೆರೆ ಪೀಡಿತ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಮುಂಜಾಗೃತ ಕ್ರಮದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ದಿನಾಂಕ:18-09-2020ರಂದು ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ/ತಾಲೂಕು ಮಟ್ಟದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಕೇಂದ್ರಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ತಮ್ಮ ಮೊಬೈಲ್/ಕಛೇರಿ ದೂರವಾಣಿ/ವಾಹನ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಪರಿಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಸದಾ ಸನ್ನದ್ಧವಾಗಿರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಸ್ಫಂದಿಸುವಂತೆ ಆದೇಶಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದೇ ರೀತಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ನೆರೆ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಮಳೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಹಾನಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪರೀಶಿಲಿಸಲಾಗಿ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದವರಿಗೆ ತುರ್ತು ಪರಿಹಾರವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವು ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಹಂತದ ಪರಿಹಾರವನ್ನು ನೀಡಲು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ.

Udupi : Due to the continuous 24-hour heavy to heavy rainfall in the district, several river character and lower area houses have flooded the  water and the rescue operation has begun with the district administration.

Due to heavy rain, traffic on Udupi Kalsanka Manipal, Gundibailu and Malpe roads has been disrupted. District Collector G. Jagdeesh said that so far, 50 families have been safeguarded and proper arrangements have been made in the area, including Ambalapady, Mathbadettu, Gundibile, Bannanje and Kapu.

At night, the neighboring water is filled with water to many houses including Alevoor, Kemthoor, Udyavar, Bolje, Kalsanka, Nittur, Balayapade, Bannanje, Kalmadi and some households are protected.

The parking lot of the Sri Krishna Math, several shops in Badagupeta, has been flooded with water and lacs of rupees have been lost.

The Swarna River overflows and many of the houses in the river’s character like Uppoor, Tenkabettu, Kemmannu, Moodukudru and other low-lying areas flooded heavily.
