Annual Sports meet at Milagres College, kallianpur, Udupi

The annual sports meet of Milagres College Kailianpur was held today, Friday, January 20, 2023 in the College grounds with much enthusiasm and festivities. Dr Narayan Prabhu, Assistant Director of Physical Education, MAHE and also an alumnus of the college was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion Dr Prabhu applauded the efforts of Milagres College to promote sportsmanship among the students righty from its inception and as a result he was able to achieve his goals in the field of sports because of the dedication of then Physical Director Mr Augustine Dais and the college in sports. He also added to say that the college is still keeping up the same tradition and he could see the same quality even today as the Milagres students are doing wonders in the field of sports.

Very Rev Fr Valerian Mendonca, the Correspondent of the College was the president of the programme. Speaking on the occasion he said the spirit of sports would make students strong and healthy and wished the meet all success.

Dr Vincent Alva, Principal welcomed the guests and all gathered and introduced the chief guest.  Dr Alva said the college has developed a unique culture of inviting the special achievers in various spheres of life among the alumni and Dr Prabhu is one such person who has brought laurels to his Alma Mater in the field of Sports.

The students’ teams put a very attractive march past to mark the inauguration and the sport light was lit. The College choir sung their melodies in invocation and the Milagres High School band contributed their rhythm and doubled the festivities.

Mr Nikhil Dsouza, the college Physical Education Director, Mrs Savitha Kumari, Principal, Milagres P U College, Ms keerthana, and Mr Nikhil, student secretaries for sports, teachers and other Physical education teachers from the campus were present.
