ICYM & YCS organises, ‘Ward level competitions & fun filled entertainment games’ to enhance the joy of Monthi-Festh.

To continue with joyous season of Monthi-festh, which was given a start on 30th August with Novena prayers, followed by grand Festal Celebrations, on 8th September and now on 17th September, 2023 parishioners enthusiastically joining together, irrespective of age in the playgrounds concluded with a grand finale….!

It was a cloudy Sunday, the previous night registered a heavy pour and a section of the ground was wet and slippery, but the afternoon saw healthy competitions within 18 wards to grab the title of Champions and prizes in various games was given a thrilling start by Parish Priest Rev Dr. Roque DSouza around 2.00 pm, with competitions for small children of the parish.

On behalf of the organisers, in his opening remarks, Kallianpur Varado President Mr Godwin Muscarenhas congratulated the local unit of ICYM / YCS for their initiative as the ‘very purpose of these activities is to ensure physical and mental stimulation, socializing and to develop teamwork skills in a relaxing environment etc. He gave a call to all gathered here to participate, if not, senior citizens and elders can encourage, clap, and boost their respective ward teams….’

Vicar Rev Dr Roque DSouza, Assistant priest Fr Oliver Nazareth too took part in few such games to enthuse the gathering to involve in games likes ‘Blind fold breaking pot’ etc.

There were various innovative fun-filled games arranged for all age groups and all attractive Tug of war to conclude the thrilling evening with prize distribution.

Normally it used to be organised on the immediate Sunday after the feast, this time the youth and children were preoccupied with Kallianpur Varado level workshops on 10th September, under these circumstances it was postponed by a week; however there was no dearth for enthusiasm, participation and involvement of young and elderly in various games..
