Milagres College, Kallianpur, celebrates, NAAC Reaccreditation Grade A+

Date: Tuesday, 12th December, 2023, at 3.30 PM, Venue: College Audio-visual Auditorium.

Overview:

Milagres College, Kallianpur, celebrated a momentous achievement as it was awarded Grade A+ in the just concluded 4th cycle of National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a remarkable 3.29 CGPA. The celebration took place at the Audio-Visual Hall in the College, attended by special guests, the Management, faculty, students, alumni, and other stakeholders.

Celebratory Atmosphere:

The hall was overflowing with guests, including Msgr Ferdinand Gonsalves (Vicar General of the Diocese) and V. Rev Fr Vincent Crasta (Secretary of CESU), alongside past and present students, former Principals, professors, and staff. The occasion was marked by a festive atmosphere.

Recognition and Congratulations:

The Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, the Bishop of Udupi and President of the College Governing Council, congratulated the Principal, Staff, Students, Alumni Association, Parent-Teachers Association, and the Management for their collaborative efforts over the last four years. He emphasized that achieving A+ Grade with 3.29 CGPA is a moment of joy, contentment, and added responsibilities. He also quoted the Peer Group report which highlighted certain unique features and facts of this great College which has a history of around 55+ years.

Acknowledgments:

Principal Dr Vincent Alva expressed gratitude to everyone involved, highlighting the exceptional efforts of present and past students throughout the evaluation process.

 Very Rev Fr Valerian Mendonca, the correspondent of the College and the Rector of the Milagres Cathedral, commended the collective effort and stressed the responsibility to maintain high standards in the future. ‘It’s a vision of an octogenarian in 1967, Msgr Denis J DSouza at his ripe 83, to start this College to cater the needs of villagers, women and marginalised to have Collegiate education in Kallianpur and in the surrounding….’

Expressions of Joy and Support:

Former Principal Dr Gerald Pinto congratulated the principal and staff - current leadership and expressed hopes for the continued growth of the college. Mr Ganesh Mestha, President of the Parent-Teachers Association, expressed happiness that the college, where his children study, holds the prestigious A+ NAAC certification.

Alumni Contribution:

Mr Shekar Gujjarbettu, President of the Alumni Association, acknowledged the hard work of the Principal, staff, and students. He assured continued cooperation and contribution from past students, considering this achievement as a proud moment for the entire Milagres community.

Honouring the Leaders:

Principal Dr Vincent Alva and IQAC Coordinator Dr Jayaram Shettigar were honoured with traditional shawls, garlands, fruit baskets, and mementos for their leadership in achieving this significant accreditation.

Appreciation for Contributors:

The College Management recognized and appreciated all contributors to the NAAC Accreditation process, acknowledging their efforts, sacrifices, and hard work. The Bishop personally handed out gifts and mementos to those who played a pivotal role in this mission – the teaching and non teaching staff members and others.

Closing the Celebration:

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr Jayaram Shettigar, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to this success story. High tea with a variety of snacks was served to all attendees.
