Print Kemmannu, May 25, 2014: Annual Parish Day of St. Theresa Church was celebrated on Sunday; May 26.The day began with the Holy mass celebrated by Msgr. Louis Mascarenhas of Allahabad Diocese with Fr. Anil D’Silva of Belthanday church, Fr. Joseph Mascarenhas of Allahabad Diocese, Parish priest Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Fr. Wilson Cornelio of Allahabad Diocese, Fr. Wilson Andrade of Kemmannu and Fr. William Martis joining him as co-celebrants.
After the breakfast, the stage programme began at 10 am with the prayer dance. Above mentioned priests along with Sr. Sudeepa, Superior of Maria Goretti Convent and Mr. Ronald Menezes Vice president of parish council were present on the dais. Parish priest Fr. Clement Mascarenhas presided over the function.
Mr. Ronald Menezes welcomed the guests and gathered. Parishioners above 90 years were felicitated with Mrs. Remedia Mendonca of 99 years and 7 months being the eldest.15 couples who have completed 50 years of married life were also felicitated. Romeo Danthi upcoming Body Builder and Mr. Archibald and Nirmala Menezes, who celebrated their Silver Jubilee of wedding, were also honored on the occasion. Fr. Anil D’Silva, who was the chairman of the church Jubilee committee last year, Fr. Joseph Mascarenhas and Fr. Wilson Cornelio were also felicitated.
Prizes were distributed to the winners for various sports and Bible quiz competitions held last week. Fr. Clement proposed the vote of thanks. All wards presented their talent in the entertainment programme held at the end of the function.
Mr. Naveen Saldanha and Miss. Nadia Menezes compeered the programme. Home cooked food prepared by the parishioners was served to the gathered.
