Last Journey of Benedict P. D Souza (Benna Master)
Last Journey of Benedict P. D Souza (Benna Master)
Benedict P. D’Souza popularly known as Benna Master who passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at the age of 82 was laid to rest in the presence of family members and few relatives at the Kemmannu Church Cemetery on Tuesday morning. Due to lockdown restrictions, only close family members took part in the simple funeral ceremony. Well wishers, Parishioners, his ex students and others visited his house and paid their last respect to the departed.
Born at Nadu Kudru of Kemmannu, Benedict completed his BCom, MCom & B Ed. and joined Milagres High School Kallianpur and worked there for many years and graduated himself as the Head Master of the same institution. In between he served as H. M. of St. Mary’s High School Kundapur for a few years. His ex students remember him fondly as a very good teacher who loved his students and mixed with them as a colleague and not as a teacher.
In real life he was an all-rounder to the core as apart from being a good teacher, he was a very good Cricketer, a successful businessman and an well known Social worker. He was active in the Church activities and served as the Vice President of the Kemmannu Church for a few years. He was a progressive agriculturist too.
Benna Master will be sorely missed by his family members, students and admirers. His memory will remain fresh in the minds for many more years to come. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
