Print Increasing Traffic at Santhekatte Junction - ’Nightmare to commuters’
Santhekatte/Udupi : The density of vehicular traffic at Kallianpura, Santhekatte, NH 66 is increasing day by day. Traffic jams are common these days, Especially during the peak hours in the morning and evening.
We are bringing you the clips this morning at 9 AM (Monday Sep 6, 2021) were the junction was Jam-Packed with the vehicles and no-sign of the traffic policemen on duty during these peak hours.
Even though the Schools are not yet 100% opened, the huge traffic at this junction is worrying to regular commuters. Heavy traffic was seen at both sides of the NH 66 and at the Junction.
Santhekatte is developing very fast with high-rise buildings, the population of this area is also increasing day by day. Several Schools and colleges, places of worship, sight-seeing are very close to this junction. Kallianpur Santhekatte is also a connecting link between Kallianpur, Thonse, Kemmannu, Hoode, Bengre, Thotam and Udupi via Malpe on the other side.
The locals are of the opinion that this Junction require a permanent police outpost with minimum 4 personnel at all the time, a underpass or a over bridge as the elders and school children are really having tough time to cross the Junction and are eagerly waiting for the district administration/elected representatives to come for their rescue.
