Mangaluru City May Face Severe Water Shortage if Rain Fails to Cool Dakshina Kannada
Mangaluru: Mangaluru city is very likely face severe water shortage if rain fails cool Dakshina Kannada and Mangaluru within 15 to 20 days as water storage in Thumbe Vented Dam started to decline quickly for the last two three weeks. For the time being, the water level at the vented dam is stood at four feet. According to Mangalore City Corporation Mayor Kavitha Sanil, water storage at the dam is enough for only 10 to 15 days. For the time being, attempts are being made to ensure the release of water from AMR dam. Though water is available at AMR and at the Nekkilady vented dam, it would be difficult to ensure regular water supply until May end.
