33-year-old mother, 5-month-old baby killed in a road accident

Beltangady: A young woman and her five-month-old child were killed on spot and two others severely injured in a tragic accident at Madanthyar here on Saturday January 20.

The accident took place on the national highway when a lorry rammed into the car in which the family was travelling.

The deceased has been identified as Archana, aged 33 and her five month old baby Aashi. Archana’s husband Jagadish and niece Vaishnavi (14) were also in the car and sustained severe injuries. They were immediately rushed to the hospital.

According to the sources, the family is from Bajal in Mangaluru. The accident took place when they were returning home after attending a function.

Jagadish owns a graphic designing firm called ’Ultra Design’ at Kudroli. Previously, he was a page designer for a Kannada newspaper.

Punjalkatte police arrived at the spot and registered a case.
