Kindness Defeats Hunger - “Free Roti-Bhaji Yojana”
Mumbai: Hunger problem continues to dominate many nations. Innovative solutions are being sorted out to overcome hunger and food insecurity for people through various food bank resources. In many areas of our country people due to poverty, declining economic situation or unemployment have to stay hungry. Assessing the situation, a social enterprise venture “Free Roti-Bhaji Yojana” was launched by the philanthropic organization “Ekata Manch”. Recently, the first phase of this initiative was concluded successfully.
The renowned social organization Ekata Manch is known for launching various charitable activities with the aim to serve human beings. The organization believes that their purpose of existence is not to lead a self absorbed life but also illustrate their lives with compassion, love and generosity and a desire to embrace the woes and sorrows of others. The said organization helmed by its president, Ajay Kaul had launched this “Free Roti-Bhaji Yojana” initiative, three months back to feed the poor and the needy with food. This organization provides free one-time meal to 50 needy people. With the help of ‘dabbawala’ (tiffin carrier) Vilas Shinde and his associates the social organization distributes a meal comprising of 3 chappatis and bhaji to the destitute and it is well received.
Ajay Kaul, the president of Ekata Manch said, “The “Free Roti-Bhaji” initiative is gaining momentum and getting a good response from all over. It is our duty to do something towards the needy and downtrodden people of our society. We are trying to do our best for the upliftment of the common man with different activities. We would increase the numbers and at the same time provide inspiration and motivation to people and the society to become a part of such humble and noble initiatives and work for the betterment of the societies.”
Ajay Kaul further informs, “This year we are celebrating the annual school festival on 17th February 2018. This year we intend to highlight the social issues and causes and will invite people from all walks of life to join us in our mission and aid the deprived people of our society.”
