ICSE, ISC results out: southern region fares best

Students can check their results at cise.org or via SMS.

The results of Class 10 Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Class 12 Indian School Certificate (ISC) exams were released on Monday.

The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CICSE) announced on its website that students can check their results at http://www.cisce.org/ or via SMS.

To receive the results by SMS, the candidate will be required to type “ICSE” or “ISC”, followed by a space and then the unique ID code and send the message to 09248082883.

ICSE:

The total pass percentage in the exams was 98.51%, with students from 2,161 schools taking the exams.

Exams were conducted in 61 written subjects.

Girls outperformed boys.

There were 977 candidates with learning disabilities, out of which 94 got above 90%.

ISC:

There is a pass percentage of 96.21% in the Class 12 ISC exams

A total number 80,880 students from 1043 schools took the exams, which were conducted in 48 written subjects. The exams were conducted between February 7 and April 2.

No. of boys: 43,053

Around 143 candidates with learning disabilities took the exams, out of which 13 scored about 90%.

Southern region performs best

A press release issued by the CISCE states that the southern region has fared the best compared to other regions in the country. The pass percentage in the southern region is 99.69 % in the ICSE examination, while it is 98.38 % in the ISC examination.

The maximum entry is from the northern region, comprising Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, New Delhi & NCR, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The southern region has the best pass percentage i.e. 99.69%, followed by the western region with a pass percentage of 99.67%

The southern region also has the highest percentage of girls i.e. 49.96%, who had appeared in the examination.

The toppers

ICSE: Swayam Das from St. Mary’s ISCE School, Navi Mumbai, is the all-India topper with 99.40%.

Jivansh Kakkar and Manvi Kumar from Sriram School are the toppers in Delhi-NCR, with 98.8%

ISC: Seven candidates top with 99.50%. The second position is shared by 17 candidates with 99.25%, while the third position is shared by 25 with 99%.

Antara Kapoor from Sriram School is the topper in Delhi-NCR, with 99.25%

Pass percentage: 99.11%

ISC:

Total candidates: 2296

Pass percentage : 97.56%

Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu, a pass percentage of 99.30% has been recorded in the Class 12 ISC board exams. 1,278 candidates appeared for the exam from 43 schools

In the ICSE results for Tamil Nadu, a pass per centage 99.79% has been recorded. 3.280 candidates from 77 schools took up the exam.

Simran Avinash Somalinga from Sishya School, Chennai is in the third place on the merit list of in the ISC Class XII exams with 99%.
