Mayor of Edison Township, New Jersey - Thomas Lankey  awarded Varsha Naik for Raising Awareness about Various Social cause

Navrang Dance Academy has been contributing to the community through various programs and events, dance & drama being the base of it all. The contribution made by Navrang Dance towards Social development is commendable. In 2017 Varsha Naik - Owner & Founder of Navrang Dance Academy also launched - USA Dance for a Cause with Dr. Sandip Soparkar, renowned world famous Choreographer. Dance for a social cause is a dance event where focus is to promote social awareness.

Navrang Dance Academy received a Proclamation Citation from the Mayor of Edison Township, New Jersey - Thomas Lankey for its initiative, its support and motivation in Community. Varsha Naik says -"Get high on dance and not on drugs."  The event was held at J.P.Stevens High School, in Edison, New Jersey.

Says Varsha - "Dance is the best dose of medicine you can take every day.  Last year I started this initiative with my mentor, my friend Mr. Sandip Soparkar. It’s just a small way of use giving back to the society who has given us so much love and support always".

Sandip said, “Dance for a social cause is a way through which we use dance and drama as a medium to raise awareness about the various social issues. Navrang Dance Academy has been contributing to the community through various progams and events, dance & drama being the base of it all. The contribution made by Navrang Dance towards Social development is commendable”.

Varsha added, “Last year the cause was the issue of Acid Attacks and this year was Drug Abuse. Receiving such an honors makes me feel delighted. We are also honored as Daniel M. Elkins, who is a professional drug prevention Coalition, spoke on the topic. We are very glad that our initiative was appreciated. We are hoping that we continue this journey and bring more awareness every year with USA Dance for a Cause and many other events."

Councilmen Ajay Patil and Upendra J. Chivukula along with Lion Daniel M Elkins gave Proclamation to Varsha Naik’s Navrang Dance Academy.
