Teacher who assaulted a student to be transferred

Kundapur: The teacher of Beejadi Padu government higher primary school, who beat a student black and blue, will be transferred and a report about the incident will be sent to the higher authorities informed the zonal educational officer Ashok Kamath to the parents of the children and the local villagers. This assurance by the officer has finally brought an amicable solution to the incident.

On Saturday, a special meeting was held in the school during which the decision was taken. Shocked by the incident, the parents of students of the school and local villagers had earlier urged the zonal educational officer to transfer all the teachers of the school. However, the zonal education officer clarified that he does not have the authority to take such a drastic action but assured that he would appraise the higher authorities to take necessary action on the physical education teacher, who beat the boy severely and also inform the same to child protection unit and SDMC.

Speaking of the assault, the Deputy Commissioner Hephsiba Rani said that complete report on the assault on the student will be sought by the school and suitable action will be taken against the concerned teacher.

The president and members of SDMC, villagers of Beejadi, members of Beejadi gram panchayat, parents of the children studying in the school and members of various organizations were part of the meeting that took place for two hours.
