Mumbai, February 11, 2020: The 4th edition of Noida Grand Marathon witnessed participation from over 3500 people from Noida, Delhi, Greater Noida, Indirapuram, NCR, and even neighboring states. Over 200 members of Covestro family participated as well showcasing the enthusiasm and support for this annual extravaganza. The marathon started from Jaypee Hospital in sector 128 and had run categories of 3kms, 5kms, 10kms and a 21.1kms half marathon. There was also a walkathon of 3kms and 5kms along with a category for cycling event of up to 50kms.
Over year’s marathons have become a popular sporting event across the country and is often considered as a community celebration. “Being the 4th year of Noida Grand Marathon, we were confident of making it bigger and better. Year after year, we have seen an increase in the sheer number of people participating in this event. It is very encouraging to see people across age groups getting excited about Noida Grand Marathon and participating with complete enthusiasm. With proper safety measures and medical support in place, we look forward to the 5th edition and are sure of even more love and support in years to come’, said Mr. Deepak Kumar Mehra, Piku Sports.
“It is wonderful to see proactive participation from over 200 Covestro family members at the Noida Grand Marathon. It is an event that we look forward to throughout the year and this time we had many of them who were first-time runners. We believe that employee participation in Marathons and other similar events improves productivity at the workplace since it is a great way to motivate and unite the team. We shall continue to take such initiatives in future as for many of our members at Covestro it is a brilliant experience”, adds Mr. Anand Srinivasan, MD, Covestro (India).
As the Noida Grand Marathon got concluded, participants were exuberant about their experience. There were first-time runners, people who seem unfit, parent-child duos and those who ran for the 3rd or 4th year in a row. Many of them had set targets which they achieved successfully.
