Here are three important announcement, where we seek your urgent attention and action.

1.) Endorse The CSF Campaign for Christians in the Mainstream - Sign the online petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/CSF11930/petition.html

Your Signature makes a difference to help us take up the cause of persecuted Christians. And not just those suffering Christians, but also those who are better off, but do not get their rightful due from the government and authorities. In many cases The CSF has found that  - even basic Minority Forums are non-existent. Wherever present, community activists and workers are being increasingly left out, even as influential namesake "Christians" who have been ineffective, continue to occupy positions, doing little or nothing.

This hurts the Christian cause and hence, the need for us to press for effective forums and ensure that they are filled with right candidates. The CSF calls for those interested in public service to get in touch ( csfpost@gmail.com ) and urges each and everyone of you to support The CSF plea for various Commissions / Corporations / Councils / Boards, etc. Your endorsement by signing this petition will be carried in a memorandum to the powers-that-be at the State and Central level.

2.) Support Fr. Cedric Prakash’s Plea to Release Arun Ferreira - Sign the online petition at http://www.change.org/petitions/chief-minister-of-maharashtra-india-release-ferreira-hes-innocent

Arun Ferreira is a suspected Naxalite (by the Maharastra police) and since 2007 he has been illegally jailed and tortured. Arun passed a post-graduate diploma course with flying colours from the Indian Institute of Human Rights (IIHR), Delhi.The Trial Court exonerated him of all charges on September 27th 2011. But, as soon as he walked free from jail, he was forcibly arrested -without any charges and warrant,his parents who were waiting for him outside Nagpur Central Jail were a witness to this incident.

On 28th Sep. 2011 he was produced at the JMFC Court in Gadchiroli District, Maharashtra with claims of a criminal conspiracy case of 2007. He was abducted in broad daylight without any warrant. Arun’s parents (above 70 years of age) are still in a state of shock. Ferriera’s lawyers, who protested againt the abduction, were manhandled by the police. They have already sent out a complaint letter to the Commisioner - to which there has been no response.

3.) Mumbai Voters completing 18 years by this year end, get registered in October, 2011 at the following centers

With A view to encourage voting and issue voter ID cards to as many eligible citizens as possible for the upcoming civic elections early next year, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) along with the State Election Commission and the Collector’s office will start a month-long ‘Be a Voter’ campaign. From 83.88 lakh voters in the last elections of 2007, the BMC hopes the number of registered voters to rise to about 99 lakh this year because of this campaign. It will be held from October 1 to November 1.

An official from the BMC’s election department said each of the 227 corporator wards in the city will have three registration centres, which will be open during this period. “These centres will facilitate citizens to get a voter ID if they reside in the city. It will also help existing voters to easily make any changes in their ID cards in case of mistakes or change in address,” said the official.
