Print In the prevailing drought situation, what should an elected representative do? ‘Relax in a resort,’ seems to be the refrain from some of the ministers who are camping in a resort along with Yeddyurappa.
The ministers Revu Naik Belamagi and Raju Gouda - who were both at the Golden Palms Resort - when asked about their stand, said that they were doing nothing since Sunday evening and they did not even know what was happening in the party.
When contacted by the media, Belamagi said he had come to the resort to escape people of his constituency and have some “fun”.
“People are continuously pestering us (MLAs) about problems like electricity, drinking water and drought. We have come to the resort to escape from all that, get some rest, eat and have some fun. We all need at least one day to unwind. We will be in the resort till our leaders ask us to,” said the animal husbandry minister.
When asked what the MLAs were up to in the resort since Sunday evening and whether they had any serious discussions to end the infighting in the BJP, Raju Gouda said the MLAs had not held a meeting till Monday afternoon.
“On Sunday evening, all of us watched the India-Pakistan cricket match and Kohli’s fabulous innings. We were very happy that India won. We are yet to hold any meeting,” he added.
