Print Students of class X from Karntaka under CBSE have scored a pass percentage of 99.73, which is higher than this year’s figure of 99.66 per cent for the southern region comprising also six other states and island territories.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class X results were announced on Monday for the southern region, comprising Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Daman and Diu.
The CBSE, which follows the continuous comprehensive evaluation (CCE) has been declaring the results in CGPA (cumulative grade point average) from the past two years. In all, 1,52,024 students from 2,117 CBSE schools appeared for the exam, with 19,460 of them from Karnataka.
A total of 1,51,509 students have qualified. In this exam again, girls have performed better than boys, though with a close bandwidth. While the pass per cent of girls is 99.75, for boys it is 99.6 per cent.
D T Sudarshan Rao, joint secretary of CBSE, Chennai region (South) told Deccan Herald that “students have done extremely well and it is a splendid performance. The new system of grades has brought down the anxiety and stress level of students. This being the CCE, the results focus on the overall performance of students instead of bookish knowledge.”
The marksheets of the students who have qualified are on way from Delhi and would reach the Chennai office within 7 to 10 days. The marks sheet will contain grades of both class 9 and 10. The CBSE class 12 results are expected to be announced within a week. The results of the northern region will also soon follow.
