Look who jumped into the fight between the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and Shah Rukh Khan -- the MNS of course. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has decided to felicitate Vikas Dalvi, the security guard who took on SRK when he didn’t allow the latter and his children to use the Wankhede ground after the match was over.

Vibhag Adhyaksh of South Mumbai, Arvind Gawde, who took the decision to felicitate Dalvi said, "We took the decision as unlike others who think twice while doing their job when they are confronted with celebrities like Shahrukh Khan, Dalvi didn’t flinch and he continued to perform his duty," said Gawde.

According to Gawde that is not the only reason they are going to honour Dalvi. "Dalvi, despite being spoken to by Shah Rukh in Hindi responded only in Marathi, which is another reason we want to felicitate him," said the MNS functionary.
 
Ever since the incident took place Gawde was trying to get in touch with Dalvi. A contact could only be established on Saturday after the MNS managed to reach him through some people in the MCA. According to Gawde, the Wankhede security guard was receptive to the suggestion of the felicitation, provided it was allowed by the MCA.
 
The MNS functionary said that while the security guard will be felicitated in Wankhede itself, it won’t be a huge public spectacle but a small ceremony. "We will just give him a bouquet and thank him for doing his job well," said Gawde.

The security guard is currently on a leave and holidaying in Vaishno Devi with his family. When Dalvi was posed this question on whether he would like to be felicitated, he responded by saying, "I am not in Mumbai right now, I will speak only after I return" claimed Gawde.

The move to felicitate Dalvi is the second time that MNS is taking on SRK.

Earlier, the MNS had asked for a boycott of Shah Rukh’s films in 2010 when, on the eve of the 26/11 anniversary, he allegedly attended a programme hosted by a Pakistani channel.

The actor later denied that he was going to be present in that event.

Shah Rukh previously irked the Shiv Sena too, which protested his comments favouring inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in the IPL.
