Byndoor Circle Inspector facing charges of hushing up murder case

Print UDUPI : It has come to light of late that GM Kantaraju, the present circle inspector of Byndoor had once earlier been suspended on the charges of hushing up a murder caseby selling the body of the dead to a medical college. An aggrieved person has decided tomove the court questioning the reappointment of Kantaraju.
The case : The present Byndoor inspector had not registered as murder the case ofKaveriappa (55) whose body was found with 33 marks of stab injuries. He had thensold the body to a medical college. Another accused police sub-inspector in this case,Vijaykumar, is presently in Bangalore after serving as traffic police in Kundapur forsome time. An ASI and a constable had colluded with Kantaraju and the SI Vijaykumar,in selling the body in 2006. The deceased was a resident of Marutinagar near Madivala in Bangalore and the post-mortem conducted in Victoria Hospital had revealed that this was a murder. A complaint was lodged in this connection in Madivala station on August 5, 2006 by Venkatesh, son of Kaveriappa. In the developments later on, the four accused including Kantaraju had been suspended for neglecting a murder case. If the incident had taken place in 2006, the government without a thorough enquiry into the case, had reappointed all the four. Meanwhile, Kaveriappa’s son has decided to move the court questioning the policeinaction. Venkatesh alleges that the police succumbing to some pressure had tried tohush up his father’s murder case.
