Print BANGALORE: After a lull, ruling-BJP is back among political activities. A meeting was held at former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s private residence on Friday involving his followers to discuss issues like change of portfolios.
Besides this, a discussion on seeking state BJP president’s post for Yeddyurappa was also discussed. Soon after the ministers in Jagadish Shettar’s cabinet were given portfolios, it was decided that the arrangements would be an ad-hoc one.
While senior ministers recognized with Yeddyurappa like Basavaraj Bommai, C M Udasi, Murugesh R Nirani, V Somanna and Shobha Karandlaje are maintaining that there was no need for reshuffle of portfolios, former CM D V Sadananda Gowda camp ministers are demanding for reshuffle.
It is said that a portfolio from each of the deputy chief ministers - K S Eshwarappa and R Ashoka - would be taken and distributed among the ministers. Eshwarappa, who holds may give up rural development and panchayat raj (RDPR) to Govind M Karjol and retain revenue with him. Similarly, Ashoka will have to give up either home or transport. Sources said he may give up home and retain transport. Shobha is one of the hot contenders for home portfolio in case of reshuffle.
The BJP core committee has been scheduled to meet on Saturday to finalize portfolios and also to choose names for the three nominated seats in the legislative council.
In a day long meeting, the camp also discussed to pressurize BJP high command to seek state BJP president’s post to Yeddyurappa. Yeddyurappa is reportedly planning to quit the party and float a new outfit by October, if, the BJP fails to appoint him as chief of the state unit.

IN BJP ONLY THIS IS THE DEVELOPMENT GOING ON SINCE MORE THAN 4 YEARS. CM CHANGING. PORTFOLIOS CHANGING AND ONLY RESHUFFLING GOING ON NOW AND THEN AS YEDDY’S WISHES. NO GOVERNANCE AT ALL. THERE IS HARDLY 6 MONTHS FOR THIS GOVERNMENT TO FINISH ITS TERM BUT STILL YEDDY WANTS TO MAKE ALL HIS SUPPORTERS A MINISTER BEFORE HE FINISHES HIS TERM SO YEDDY CAN ALSO SURVIVE. FOR HIS SURVIVAL YEDDY IS DOING THIS AND RTHE SPINELESS PRESIDENT F BJP AND OTHER LEADERS WILL AGREE TO THIS AS THEY ALSO HAVE TO SURVIVE. NOW ANOTHER TAMASHA WILL TAKE PLACE WHEN THE PORTFOLIO IS CHANGED. WAIT FOR THIS TAMASHA. SHETTAR TAKING AS CM IS NOT EVEN A MONTH OVER. WHEN THE RESHUFFLE TAKES PLACE THERE MAY BE A NEW CM ALSO.
