Fort Wayne: An Indiana woman who told investigators she fed her young son olive oil and vinegar until he stopped breathing and died, then hid his body more than a year has been formally charged.
Court documents show that Latisha Lawson of Fort Wayne faces felony counts of battery and neglect of a dependent.
DNA results are still pending to definitively determine whether remains found Dec. 21 at a home in which Lawson was living are those of her 3-year-old son, Jezaih King.
Authorities say Lawson told them she gave the boy oil and vinegar and held his mouth shut until he stopped struggling. They say she gave her 10-year-old daughter oil and vinegar, but stopped when she spit it out.
Court records don’t list an attorney for Lawson, who remains jailed.
