Print Complaints catch officers off guard at open session
BSNL telephone consumers bombarded officers with complaints at the consumers meet in the City on Saturday.
Consumers complained that there was no network at night, no one responses when contacted customer care, money gets deducted without us using the facility and the list just continues.
Though only few consumers attended the meeting, they had at least a hundred complaints against BSNL service.
One of the consumers directly asked the officer that, “You have not solved the problems listed out last year. What is the use of making a list of complaints again this year.”
This year, in recently at least 124 persons have ported to other networks from BSNL. Still, the company is not thinking of becoming user friendly,” said Keshavamurthy.
Officers failed to answer most of the questions posed by the people. Meanwhile consumers demanded that there is network problem especially at Katharipalya and Sunkadakatte and asked officers to solve the problems as soon as possible.
Complaints were not only regarding their service to mobile phones, but an officer of Karnataka Bank said that even landline phones were not working properly.
After listening to complaints, Assistant Manager Yallappa and officer Narayanakumar said that, “There was shortage of staff at the department and even some of the tools were lacking. Still, we will try to solve the problem listed here,” he assured.
Speaking about services of BSNL in Kolar taluk, officer Ramachandra said that, “New mobile centres will be opened at Bethamangala and Patna. Currently, three telephone centres are working in the city and 16 in the rural areas. There are 1104 wireless telephone networks in use and 40,000 mobile connections in use. Rural telephone service has been provided to 326 gram panchayats.”
